I'm taking over a week off over the birthday/xmas holiday and have decided to produce this table....it's going to be sweet. I'll post some pics once I'm finished.
(and "gemasis") and swarovski crystals to make a chandelier. The materials would be copper, 2 pieces of mirror and the crystal pendants hanging down, lit up by LED lights embedded into the copper. Hopefully over the winter months I will have some time to produce it. Cheers.
There is currently an exhibit at the recently renovated Akron Art Museum named "Toying with Imagination," and includes 3 photos from my lomography fisheye2 camera that I took around the Kent area. The exhibit lasts until January 11 and I highly suggest going to check it out, if not for this exhibit, just go visit the museum's new addition which opened last year.
Updates have gone on a vacation and I apologize. So much has happenened in the last 3 months I'm not even sure where to begin...but here it goes: First, and most importantly, I am no longer at my previous job. It is a sinking ship to say the least and I am glad I jumped at the time I did. I am now working for an architecture office in Independence Ohio, and am extremely excited/happy with the new position. It is a breathe of fresh air having actual drafting standards and ways of thinking to re-learn, since they were not followed at all in the previous place of employment.
If you follow the link in the title you can inspect the design I entered in the Noilly Prat competition. The challenge was to design a sculptural element for their headquarters in France utilizing natural elements and water. I'm trying to stay as active as possible and am currently working on a few other competition designs. Check back for updates.
I've also been spending a lot of time working on some photography. I have a new Lomo toy and if you check out this folder you can see the first round I produced. There are also pictures from the International Toy Fair that I attended with my Dad in February. It was a blast and somewhat overwhelming being surrounded by 3 floors of toys and crafts. It was a great time and my Dad was able to go over the designs I was working on with a potential client. Hopefully there will be news on that shortly.
That is it for now, but stay in touch for more updates to come in the next week!
First post of the new year, I've neglected this site but forgive me I am new. If you follow the link in the title you can check out some of my pictures from the Windy City. I had a blast; good people, good times and a great location. Work has been insanely busy so it's getting really hard to juggle everything I want to do. I'm working on some new ideas/designs with my Dad which are really exciting. Also trying to build my first piece of furniture along with getting some more designs down via Sketchup. Tune in to my Picasa page frequently for updated designs/photos. Megan moved to NYC this past weekend so you will probably be hearing a lot more from me.
Hi. My name is Andrew.
I am obsessed with the many facets of design. I am perpetually intrigued about how design is interpreted by different people and how it can shape their lives. As a designer, I strive for human interaction and continuing evolution in my work.
